First Steps at Cansfield

My name is Amy Oxbury, and I am based in the baby room, which is part of our birth to 3 unit. I have worked at First Steps since 2012.
My initial focus in this room is to provide a calm and warm environment for babies where they feel loved and cared for. I aim to provide a welcoming, safe and secure learning environment enhanced with high quality, stimulating resources.
It is important to me that all my babies are extremely happy and settled in a secure home from home environment.

As soon as the babies start to take their first few steps, they are eager to explore their environment even more, so they move into the toddler room. This is the next leg of their journey with space to develop further with greater access to age appropriate challenging equipment. Beth & Jade are based in this room, they have both worked at First Steps since 2009. The focus in this room is independence and social skills, with planned activities to build on your child’s emerging interests and skills. Your child’s day could be filled with endless possibilities for fun as they build structures, role play, paint, listen to stories and sing favourite songs.
