Management Team
At First Steps, your child is supported by an experienced and caring team. Louise, our Nursery Manager, has over 33 years in childcare and has been with us since 1998. Angela, our Deputy Manager, brings many years of experience too and joined us in 1999.
We believe in being present and involved. Our management team works directly in the nursery rooms, getting to know every child and their family. Their goal is to guide and motivate a team of Nursery Nurses who are truly passionate about what they do.
All our staff are trained to NNEB or Level 3 in Childcare and are certified in Paediatric First Aid. We also have specialist training in diabetes, coeliac, allergen awareness, and administering a Jext/Epi‑Pen. Our team regularly takes part in further training to keep their knowledge fresh and up to date.

Birth to 3 Team
Our Birth to 3 Room offers a calm, nurturing space where babies and toddlers feel safe, supported and loved. Our experienced team builds strong bonds with each child, following their individual routines and encouraging early learning through play, sensory exploration and warm interactions. We work closely with parents and carers to ensure every child’s needs are understood and met, creating a gentle, caring environment where they can grow with confidence.

Preschool Team
Our Preschool Room is a vibrant, engaging space where children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning. Our skilled team supports each child as they explore early literacy, numeracy, creativity and problem‑solving through purposeful play and exciting hands‑on experiences. We encourage curiosity, cooperation and communication, helping children build the social and emotional skills they need for their next steps. Working closely with parents and carers, we ensure every child feels valued, supported and ready for their transition to school.

Breakfast, After School & Holiday Club Team
Our Breakfast, After School and Holiday Club team provides a fun, relaxed and supportive environment where children can unwind, play and enjoy time with friends. The team is experienced, caring and committed to creating a safe space that feels like a home‑from‑home at the start and end of the school day, as well as during the holidays. With a mix of creative activities, outdoor play, quiet areas and opportunities for independence, we ensure every child feels welcome, valued and included. Working closely with families, our team helps children feel happy, confident and excited to return each day.

Facilities Team
We would be lost without our facilities team! They keep our nursery running efficiently, so that we can concentrate on the children. They prepare nutritious meals for our kids and make sure the nursery is spick and span so the children are able to learn in a safe environment and enjoy their time with us.
